Supporting science engagement activities at UC Berkeley for the Pacific Research Platform ( to help scientists understand and effectively utilize networks and data transfer technologies (e.g., FIONAs, FIONettes, Data Transfer Nodes) to accelerate their scientific research * Supporting ongoing programs with student teams * Reaching out to relevant researchers and labs connected to the PRP * Helping to expand the capacity of the science engagement work in northern California and throughout the network * Developing, testing, and implementing the PRP (e.g., involving the use of perfSONAR software, benchmark testing, etc.) with faculty conducting data-intensive research throughout the UC system and the broader Pacific region

PerfSONAR Test Examples: These examples mostly focus on real-time network performance testing and debugging on the command line, however there are also some (sub-) examples mixed in here on troubleshooting, debugging, and tuning hosts to maximize throughput. Also included is a “Miscellaneous Networking Testing and Monitoring Tools” section that covers examples of the use of other tools outside of PerfSONAR.
